24/002 Presentation from ECO Learn

Ashleigh Butterfield gave a presentation on how they apply for funding and set up micro growing farms on behalf of group/organisations and the elements that can be built into them such as water collection and composting and seeds.  In addition, training can be given with regards to cooking and growing.  The site would need to be secure, and project would need to be run and managed by volunteers.

24/003 To receive the Chairman’s Report on Parish Council Activities for the past year.

Cllr C Lack reported on the high and low parts of the past year of the Parish Council.

Grants have been given to support the mother and toddler group, ‘Meet the Georgians’ group who held a fantastic event, the annual Feastival which was another good well attended event, and a contribution was made to the coronation celebration with children being given a souvenir.  Commitment has also been made to support the village produce show this coming year.

We have fully operational security cameras at the playing field, and have advertised that any anti-social behavior is to be reported to the Council.  No requests have been received at this point for us to check on the cameras.

The defibrillators are constantly monitored and kept in full working order.

Street lighting is currently ok except for the cut through alleyway on West Street which is being looked into. We continue to provide the bi-annual skip for residents, and Christmas lights and banner where supplied this year and we now own the phone box which hopefully will be made use of next year.

On the negative there has been antisocial behavior at the Millenium Green and recent issues of speeding on West Street.  There are items at the play area in need of repair and we are awaiting funding to support this.

Sadly the demise of the football club has left the Pavilion in a transit state, however another club is interested in using it.

Thank you for your support and hard work.

Cllr C Lack

24/004To receive reports from County and District Councilors

None received.

24/005 To receive any further reports.

None received.

24/006 Football Pavilion

Cllrs reported that in view of the football club no longer running, the council is looking to take ownership of it and the running and management of its use.  The intention being that it will available for anyone to hire, with the priority being for residents, and at present we do have another football club interested in hiring it.  Insurance has been taken out to cover the building during the transit state and there will be testing and remedial works needing to be carried out before it can be hired out.

24/007 Neighborhood plan

Cllr Martin Smith reported the first stage of the consultation is now complete and there have been 83 responses received, with 14 people wanting to be involved.

This stage was to establish what the community want in relation to new development and the areas that they wish to be covered and Cllr Smith ran through some of these.
