Minutes of the meeting of Folkingham Parish Council held on 19th January 2023

 

Present:                               Cllr Catherine Lack, Cllr Lucy Robb, Cllr Anne Booth, Cllr Hannah Weston Smith, Cllr Nickey Pretty, Cllr Martin Smit

A question was raised about the contact names on the sign for playing field CCTV and the need for more obvious signage - particularly on the gates leading onto the area.Cllr Lack to update contact numbers. Cllr Weston Smith to look into the provision of additional signage.

23/001 Apologies for absence and reasons given. – None

 

23/002 To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011. - None

 

23/003 Draft minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 17 November 22 to be confirmed and signed as minutes.

It was resolved to accept the above notes as minutes.They were confirmed and signed by the Chairman.

Action: Clerk to update minutes on website

 

23/004 Matters arising

Parish Clerk – Applications for post have been received and interviews will be held week beginning 23 January 2023

 

23/005 Updates from LCC/SKDC – No updates

 

23/006 Traffic Calming  -  No matters arising

 

23/007  Playing field

  1. CCTV - see above.  A vote of thanks was given to Stuart at SMS Solutions for his excellent work on the project
  2. Pavilion     Cllr Lack to begin rent negotiation for new financial year, with RFFC, Drainpipe remains damaged Cllrs Weston Smith and Robb to get quotations for repair.
  3. Play equipment - Cllrs Weston Smith and Robb to get quotations for upgrade work (along with pavilion repair)
  4. Allotments - Cllr Robb is sorting this year's invoices which are due to go out in February - note made to add new bank details

 

23/008 Other village matters

  1. Defibrillator: update from Councillor Pretty confirmed that both machines were up to date and in full working order
  2. Village Green:  bench - installation is imminent - Cllr Weston Smith overseeing.  Telephone box is now owned by FPC Cllr Smith to put its future usage to the planning committee for consideration

 

23/009 Planning:

Update from Cllr Martin Smith

 

23/010 Finance

  1. Internal Audit - auditor now appointed through LALC.
  2. Payments approved: SMS Solutions (CCTV) and LALC (annual membership)
  3. Clerk and litter picking services are now under the employment of FPC and subject to PAYE.  Cllr Lack to speak to those concerned.
  4. It was agreed that the services of John Kirby be retained for grass cutting in the village.

 

22/011 Correspondence

Due to relocation plans, Cllr Clark has resigned - with effect from the January meeting.  A unanimous vote of enormous thanks was given in appreciation of his tireless work as a member of the council, given in service of the village, since 2016.  Thoughts then turned to the recruitment of a new councillor to fill the vacancy.  Cllr Lack will contact LALC for advice about the best way to do this.
